Several months ago in a series planning meeting we decided to do a series on the miracles of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. We found a catchy title through a book on my shelf and the rest as they say is history… Well sort of. I thought it was just going to be another series but our creative team had other plans.
You have to know first that we have one of the most amazing creative teams on the planet. I imagine their minds are always racing because whenever we throw something their way they almost always take it several notches up.
That was no different with this series. In fact, we put this series off for several months based on their dreams of producing a musical…And boy did they ever. If you haven’t had a chance to watch it, you can watch it below.
Crazy right. Ryan wrote and recorded all the music and I am still blown away. The musical was shown in church on the last week of the series. After the musical Pastor Larry spoke on the final miracle, the raising of Lazarus. I love this story in the Gospel. In fact I wrote my first sermon outline based on this passage.
I’m always reminded in this story that Jesus’ timing is always different from ours and that when we think things are over He still has plans in our live.
Pastor Larry told a story at the end of his sermon about his brother that has cancer and gave us the challenge to live until we die. Live until we die….I have been thinking about that all week. I have a good life, great family, great job…but am I intentionally “living” everyday.
Someone once said, “Death is more universal than life. Everyone dies but not everyone lives.” I think this is so true. I can’t define for you what living looks like, but I want to encourage you to make sure you are doing it.
ARE YOU INTENTIONALLY LIVING THE LIFE YOU WERE MADE FOR?
WHAT CAN YOU DO TODAY TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE MAKING THE MOST OF THE LIFE YOU WERE GIVEN?
