We finished our family series this past weekend at church. You can see the last video at the end of this post. In the last message of this series, Pastor Larry talked about leaving a legacy.
This is a concept that has always rattled in my mind. It is a common concept. Several years ago I started following Dave Ramsey and that is probably when I really began to put a plan together. That is probably when I first started being intentional with the legacy that I want to leave.
The other time that this idea began to really way on my heart is when my two kids were born. There is so much that I want to teach them and so much that I want them to know that I didn’t want to take the chance that they just learn things on accident.
Leaving a legacy should happen on purpose.
This past weekend Pastor Larry said, “A legacy is created when we partner with something bigger than we are.”
As I have been thinking about that statement I have been wondering how am I doing in that area. Am I partnering with God in every area of my life. If any of us were honest with ourselves we would say no, and that is not a bad answer as long as we are aware of it and willing to do something about it.
Today I want to live intentionally. Today I want to make sure that I am making an impact for God and that I am leaving a legacy that will propel my kids into the future that God has for them.
